night of firsts

Here goes our first night in the RV, out in the wild! This will also be our first night staying with a Harvest Host, so we're boondocking to boot! Will update y'all in the AM, how it all goes :)

prep, pack, panic!

We're calling an audible. There's no way we can leave tomorrow, there's still too much left to do in getting the RV ready.  Something to be thankful for today: we didn't plan to park the RV at the house since we live in a cul-de-sac with a narrow opening. But, we measured twice and gave it a go... It worked! Alas, even with the RV parked at the house, we weren't able to pack it all in time for departure tomorrow. parking success!

towing Baby off the lot today

It's here, it's here! Today is the day we pick up the RV from the lot.  The idea is to park it nearby our house, load up the truck (our tow vehicle, a Ford F-350), head over to where we parked the RV, pack it up and then get a good night's sleep. What do *you* think actually happened? Successfully got the RV hitched to the Big Red Truck~

quest complete: one RV acquired.

This is our new baby~  We did it! One RV has been acquired; I'm already in love with our new baby.  We've officially become "first time RV owners".  At this point all we have is the RV and a vague idea that we're going to drive all the way across the country to visit some family on the East Coast. (And family along the way too, of course.) We plan on leaving... in 9 days. Everyone we tell seems to think we're nuts; then we tell this is our very first RV. They all give us the same look, how curious! If you ever need an RV, go find Annie. Can you tell how we're each feeling about this?
